Player Code of Conduct

As a player in the in the Stamford Youngtimers Basketball League, I commit to the following:

Respect

• I will respect my coaches, teammates, referees, opponents, and spectators at all times.
• I will listen to my coach's instructions and follow them, as they are there to help me grow as a player and person.

Sportsmanship

• I will demonstrate good sportsmanship on and off the court, win or lose.
• I will support and encourage my teammates, celebrating their successes and helping them improve.

Effort and Commitment

• I will give 100% effort during practices, games, and team activities.
• I will attend practices and games on time and notify my coach in advance if I am unable to attend.

Attitude

• I will maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the outcome of the game.
• I will accept constructive criticism from my coaches and work to improve my skills.

Fair Play

• I will play by the rules of basketball, understanding that fairness and integrity are more important than winning.
• I will never engage in cheating, disrespectful behavior, or intentional harm towards other players.

Self-Control

• I will not argue with referees, coaches, or players during games. If I have an issue, I will communicate it calmly with my coach.

Inclusivity

• I will treat all my teammates and opponents with respect, regardless of their background, skill level, or physical abilities.
